Tech-Driven UAE Mediation Secures Russia-Ukraine Prisoner Swap of 320

A significant prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine has been successfully completed, resulting in the release of 320 captives. This development was facilitated by mediation efforts from the United Arab Emirates, which played a crucial role in brokering the agreement.

In this latest exchange, each country released 160 prisoners, continuing a series of negotiations aimed at addressing humanitarian concerns amidst the ongoing conflict. With this round, the number of prisoners exchanged through talks supported by the UAE has approached nearly 7,800.

The United Arab Emirates commended both nations for their willingness to cooperate with its mediation initiatives. It emphasized that the successful exchange highlights its status as a reliable international mediator in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the release of the Ukrainian soldiers, who had been held captive since 2022. He acknowledged the teams responsible for securing their freedom and vowed to continue efforts to liberate other military personnel and civilians still detained.

This latest prisoner swap occurs amidst ongoing hostilities between the two countries, as diplomatic efforts persist in addressing humanitarian issues and exploring potential pathways to ease tensions.
