The UAE is gearing up for a significant rise in temperatures this week, with forecasts indicating that some areas in Abu Dhabi could experience scorching highs of up to 48°C. This prediction comes from the National Centre of Meteorology, which has identified Thursday as the day when the heat will peak in the region.

In particular, regions within the Abu Dhabi emirate such as Mezaira, Gasyoura, and Al Quaa are expected to bear the brunt of these extreme temperatures. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi city itself is anticipated to reach a high of 43°C on the same day. This marks a sharp increase from the relatively mild spring that has just passed, characterized by fluctuating and unsettled weather patterns.

Dubai, on the other hand, is projected to experience slightly cooler conditions, with temperatures expected to top out at 40°C on Thursday. Despite this, the overall trend reflects a broader warming pattern, as temperatures have already been consistently exceeding 40°C in various parts of the UAE in recent weeks. This pattern serves as a clear indication of summer’s imminent arrival.

The UAE officially transitions into the summer season on June 21, aligning with the Northern Hemisphere’s calendar. Meteorologists predict that the hot temperatures will persist across the region, signaling a potentially intense summer ahead for the UAE residents.
