The United Arab Emirates has rolled out a significant national campaign aimed at rallying citizens and residents to express their loyalty and support for President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This initiative recognizes his leadership in enhancing the country’s security, stability, and stature on the global stage. Launched under the banner of “Pledge and Commitment,” the campaign was unveiled by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan at a prominent event held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, which drew a diverse audience of over 4,800 attendees, including citizens, residents, students, investors, academics, and business leaders.
The main objectives of the initiative are to spotlight the President’s extensive contributions to national development, emphasizing four core principles: fostering unity and coexistence, drawing inspiration from leadership values, reinforcing civic responsibility and national identity, and expressing gratitude for the UAE’s prosperity and stability. In a move to broaden its reach, the campaign has been extended online, featuring a dedicated website and QR code that allow people across the UAE to engage digitally.
Organizers have outlined plans for the campaign to progress through collaborations with companies, universities, and community organizations. This will be supplemented by multilingual online engagement and a series of public events. The campaign emerges in the wake of a period marked by national solidarity, following regional security tensions earlier in the year. As a result, public displays of patriotism have surged nationwide, with UAE flags prominently displayed at homes, offices, and public buildings, aligning with calls from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to celebrate the nation’s resilience and unity.
The oath of allegiance encapsulated in the pledge underscores support for President Sheikh Mohamed, portraying him as a leader who safeguards national security, drives progress, and exemplifies dedication and service to the nation. Participants who choose to sign the pledge online are rewarded with a digital certificate of appreciation, which can be downloaded and shared, further fostering a sense of collective commitment and pride.
