On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan attended Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Accompanying him were senior leaders, officials, and a multitude of worshippers. The occasion marked the beginning of the religious festival, with Sheikh Mohamed exchanging Eid greetings with those present.
During the sermon, Dr. Omar Al Darei, who chairs the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, highlighted the vital role of honesty as a cornerstone for trust and national unity. He also commended the UAE leadership for its dedication to building a strong nation through unity and a focus on national interests. This sentiment resonates deeply as the country continues to celebrate its achievements.
Sheikh Mohamed was joined by prominent figures such as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. Together, they recited Al Fatiha in remembrance of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This act of tribute underscores the lasting legacy of the nation’s founding leader.
Across the Emirates, rulers and senior leaders attended Eid prayers alongside citizens and residents in major mosques. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed was present at the Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined worshippers at the Sharjah Mosque. These gatherings reflect the widespread participation and unity observed during the celebrations.
Further demonstrating the nationwide observance of Eid, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi attended prayers at the Al Zaher Palace Mosque in Ajman, while Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi performed prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah. In Umm Al Quwain, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered prayers at the Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined congregants at the Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. The prayers across the Emirates marked a significant start to Eid Al Adha, with thousands gathering to participate in the festive occasion.
